Question No memory when ram is placed in certain slot

So yesterday I got one new stick of ram. I put it into my pc and when I went to turn it on, everything seemed normal but I would not get display or power on my usb ports. I moved my old 8gb stick of ram to slot 2 because the new ram would've gotten in the way of the cpu fan. Now when I try to put my original ram into slot 1, it does not work. Only when my ram is plugged into slot 2 will it function. My motherboard is a Prime B360M-K and everything else works fine. I noticed later that the ram had different cas latencies so that might have caused the problem but I can't be sure. Sorry if my writing is horrible, English is not my first language.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

What is the old stick of ram and what is the new stick of ram?

Better yet just list your full system's specs. Please include/list your specs like so:
CPU:
Mot;erboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
OS:

Check and see which BIOS version you're currently on.
