Question No more audio on Dell Inspiron?

Hello,
I was waching a movie on my old laptop Dell Inspiron N5110 when, all of a sudden, there was no sound. However, the headphones still work.

Since the laptop has 2 loudspeakers and neither works, but the headphones still work, what could be the problem and how hard would be to fix it?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

If the audio is yet being outputted through the analog audio output port on the laptop then the audio on your mobile computing device isn't dead, the speakers for your laptop died/the connector on it gave out.

You might want to see if your laptop has any BIOS updates pending(using the support site from HP) and then try reinstalling your audio drivers to rule out a corrupt driver. Which OS version are you on?

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I use Linux Debian Testing. Having other Linux distros on the same laptop, I have checked the audio booting into a different system and the results were the same.
Since both loudspeakers don't work, I assume the connector must be the problem.
This is the tech datas on the device:
Audio:
Device-1: Intel 6 Series/C200 Series Family High Definition Audio
vendor: Dell driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 00:1b.0
Sound Server: ALSA
