Hello, I want to build my new PC but can't get the GPU I want because they are all sold out? I heard about the whole bitcoin thing and that's neat and all but will these things ever come back to buy from all brands and not sell out in a week and take forever to get more out there? At first I thought this was because of black friday and all but then I heard about crypto currency so will these bit coin miners always buy out these cards? I am also upset that these new cards got price points
270x: $250
280x: $300
and now I am seeing 280x cards at $450? I am pretty mad because I had a build in mind for about $1000 and this card was included to run all my new games on ultra paired with an i5 4670 and now I can't do that because these things got so damn expensive. Please don't recommend the 760 or 770, I have no interest in a Nvidia card if I can get the same performance from AMD for way cheaper. So will they ever solidly come back?

Solution
Not entirely, The GTX 770 can handle most games on par if not better, in games like BF4 which is AMD based, the 770 only looses about 6 frames at most compared to the 280x, on max settings, and takes games like bioshock better. A 770 can be found for 340 bucks http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?p=EV-GTX770&c=fr&pid=ab680a4dd30e645dbbe705e51c5c2d4cde2425d3c66e2e73b1aa8780c257aabd&gclid=CMKkhZSou7sCFcKDQgodlxwAMA and a 760 for 260 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130932
Not the best solution compared to pre mining costs, but now, it is more performance per dollar by far.
Even though you dont want nvidia, its looks like the only choice. AMD no longer beats nvidia in performance for a lower price.
So I would recommend an Nvidia card, and heres why
AMD cards, are going up in price due to mining like you said, but AMD has no power over that. Its the manufactures and retailers that price them. Untill mining with GPUS comes off popularity amd cards will stay high. So its wait it out which could take any amount of time, or bite the bullet and by Nvidia.

i was in the same boat haha. im not really a nvidia fan so i ended up getting a 270x toxic card and oc more and performs like a 7950.though i plan on getting a 290 when the coolers come out or 280x if prices drop but if you dont want nvidia that prolly your best amd without having to pay more than normal

I just don't really want to spend $400 and that's like the minimum you need to spend to run games like BF4 on ultra and have the same performance at what the 280x would give.

I think I will start by just buying a new motherboard and i5 4670K because I have an AMD 7850 right now but it performs terribly because of my garbage APU. I've seen videos of people with this set-up getting a solid 40-50 fps on BF4 and Crysis 3 on max settings. I will upgrade my PSU and GPU and case when cards go down in price or 280x comes back.
