No music in the expansions!!!

I don't seem to be getting any music in conquests or play the world.
Yes the music is selected. Any ideas, anyone?

I get that sometimes. Ususally it just requires a machine reboot for the
sound to come back.

I've just had that problem and solved it although it may not be the
same solution or reason as you. I could get the sound effects and
event music working but no CD background music, same in all games I
tried. Turned out my on board sound via my mother board didn't support
hardware buffering. Went into the system sounds and turned off all
sound hardware acceleration and...hey presto...back came the music.
