No Network Adapters? (Win 8.1)

My friend bought a used Alienware 13. Did not come with any manufacturer flash drive (since the 13 has no disc slot), but it IS however missing both the Ethernet and Wireless Network Adaptors. Does anyone know how he can fix this? His desktop shows "Windows 8.1 Build 9600" in the bottom right if that helps.

The drivers should be part of the OS. If they are missing it's a troubleshooting issue.

This was a problem for myself as well. I can't remember how I fixed it, though there are guides.

Upgrading to Windows 10 is another option and it may fix the problem.

This is for the Alienware 13 R2.

It only provides Killer NIC drivers, so if you don't have those I wouldn't bother. Even if you did they aren't normally required though may solve your problem if the basic ones aren't working.

Otherwise look for "missing adapter" guides.

Worst-case scenario you can buy a nano-USB network adapter.
