Hello Folks, So I am having a bit of an issue on my networking side of things. I have searched for hours for anything like this, but to no avail. So my network symbol is not showing up in the taskbar, and yes I have looked under the toolbar settings and the network icon is clicked as "on". So there is that, then my wifi is showing no connections when I select "show networks"under the settings tab. So i don't even have the option of finding a network even if i wanted to. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the network adapter/updated the driver numerous times, restarted the laptop numerous times and nothing. But the most frustrating thing is that I am able to browse the internet as if nothing was wrong and my network was working just fine. Any ideas what could be going wrong and how to remedy the situation? Thanks again!

Solution

In services.msc look for the both services

Wired AutoConfig
WLAN AutoConfig

Umm, first you might identify through which network you are connected to the Internet ( WiFi or LAN) so then it will be easier to find how you are connected to the Internet.

Open the Command Prompt (Win + R--> cmd) & type

ipconfig /all

copy & paste here what you get on the CMD.

You can see here through the 'Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi' a network connection is established.

in CMD enter this

netsh wlan show interfaces

it will show you the currently connected network.
