Hi

I have several 2TB WD My Passport and a Toshiba USB 3.0 external drives,
but none has the option to enable Write-caching policy under Policies tab.
I need to do this because my TB transfers between two drives is way too slow, about 58MBps average speed, only !!

I have another (new) 4TB Seagate USB 3.0, that one has the both options:
*Better performance (default)
* Enable write-caching on the device

So is there anyway I could enable Write-caching to speed up those drives?
My Laptop and all the external drives are USB 3.0, so it can't be this slow, no?

Please see the screenshot attached.

Any HELP is highly appreciated.
Thank you all.

Solution
Write caching will not improve the transfer speed so the drive is setup to "try and not lose data if you just unplug it" instead of using "safely eject", doing this disables write caching since it will definitely cause data loss if you simply unplug it with write caching turned on.

Solution
You are always at risk of losing data no matter what you use. This is why important data always needs to be backed up. A backup is an extra copy of the data (never an only copy) stored on a completely separate device. The more copies you have on different devices the safer your data is.
