Finally have my first system put together. Everything went smoothly until i attempted to install windows. Went through the whole installsion process, and computer restarted for the first time. My computer got blue screen with Whea uncorrectable error. Went through that a couple times with both the ssd and hard drive and got the same results.

At first i thought i went through the format screen improperly or may have received my hard drives broken. RMAed both my ssd and hard drive.

Received new ones and again got the same errors. Thought it may have been a corrupted windows disk. Made a new one and still no luck. Tried to run Ubuntu with no luck. Ran a memtest and my ram checked out fine. I thought since my BIOS was running smoothly that my cpu/mothrboard was fine but i am starting to think different, unfortunately it is too late to RMA anything else.

I am at a lost as to what to do know. Does anyone have any ideas?

Here is my build

Can you add more or all of the blue screen message - unless all it says is "Whea uncorrectable error." Do you get the same or a different error trying to boot ubuntu?

If you get the same message after installing Ubuntu as after installing Windows, my first guess is that you're not booting from the drive to which you just installed the OS. Are you familiar with the BIOS boot selection menu? Let's make sure you're booting from the right thing.

Bought the disk fresh which i only tried with my computer and borrowed one from my university technology department which i beleive was used for multiple downloads. both produced the same results.

I posted the blue screen im getting below. Ubuntu i will post the screen shortly. i like to add Ubuntu doesnt follow through with download

I did set my boot priorities in Bios.

Windows has installed so that rules out it being a disk or SSD error

Take the graphics card out of the machine , take the hard drive out [ or just unplug it from the power ]
Make sure the SSD is plugged in to the lowest numbered SATA port

Connect the monitor to the motherboard outputs . Ideally using DVI cable

When BIOS opens set everything to optimized defaults

Then trash the windows installation using ubuntu
Then reboot and partition and format using the windows disk .

At that point it should all go well

Are you booting using the windows 8 OS setting in the BIOS menu. Usually UEFI has that setting that you need to use, also check your manual for windows 8 installation as it does require additional steps. Also I found here http://www.reviversoft.com/blog/2013/09/a-guide-to-the-whea_uncorrectable_error-blue-screen-of-death/
