Hi, my friend (who I help with PC-related problems) just got a new laptop from Dell (Inspiron 1100), but it has no parallel port. He has a Canon LBP-800 and an HP Deskjet 1120C Professional Series which both connect with parallel. (on his old PC he used a manual switch box to connect both to the parallel port.) Is there any method of connecting these? Someone suggested a print server with two parallel outputs? Has anyone had any luck connecting either of these with an HP or Canon print server? or one made by a company like Netgear? eg, the Netgear PS110 ? It would be ideal to get both working with a dual port server like the netgear one, but if its only possible to get one working, then the HP is priority. Thank you for your help.

If its on a network you can connect it with a HP JetDirect 500. These have 4 parallel ports. I'm not that familiar with that model but have used the JD 175 before. It worked pretty well. You may find an USB to parallel adapter that will work too but I've never had much luck with those.
