i had win 8 in my laptop. i was trying to intall win 10 in that process i had formatted C: drive then let the win 10 install on C: drive but got an error so i deleted the drive C: and tried to recreate new partition but got error but at that time i was able to see my another partitions on hdd. i was confused what to do now so i used my xp window cd and reboot it but i did not procedd any process to install it. i again reboot my laptop to win 10 installation but this time there was no partition visible. i tried ubuntu portable to view partitions but none of the partition was visible i want to recover my data. please suggest some fix. Thanks

Do you have any Windows installer disks? If so, boot from the disk and attempt to recover any files. You might also try the free portable version of Recuva from HERE.

In the future NEVER mess with your OS without backing up data, indeed you should backup regularly anyway if the data has any value to you.
