No performance boost after upgrade

So i had GTX 750 ti and got 120 fps in cs go for example and i upgraded the GPU to GTX 970 and the performance did not increase a single ---- Could it be the drivers? at least in their website its the same driver i think.. i am not sure though. I need help. EDIT: I have the same CPU which is kind of good, and ingame its procent is still about the same which is 20%

I had the newest drivers.
Asus A88X-Plus as a motherboard
AMD A10 7700K as a CPU
650W PSU
from GTX 750 TI to GTX 970
some games work with insane fps boost and some are worse or the same.
for example in cs go its a little worse

Yeah install them again over the top, a friend of mine had the same thing when he went from 970 to 1070.
