So I'm running into a small error and want to know what should do for my next step.

So for my Mobo is an Asus ROG b550-f gaming. My processor is a Ryzen 7 5800X. Ram I don't have specs right in front of me right now but I installed it like a year or 2 ago. Have a 2070 Super GPU. Everything worked fine last boot (last wednesday) I currently have for my HD solid state drive hooked up via SATA. I currently didn't have an M.2. I got a samsung 980 pro. I believe according from my research I should have no compatibility issues.

So I'll describe the issues. ANd what I did to Trouble shoot.

1. First error was orange DRam Light. Flashed BIOS to latest. It seemed to work.
2. After that didn't do anything I reseated the RAM. It got past the error with a single stick of ram, then could put one back in and it still got past.
3. Then it hung up on green boot light. This was my problem. So I tried everything, reseated Sata, Reseated M.2. Removed M.2. Reset CMOS. I'm going to leave the CMOS battery out for the next few days as I'm going out of town just to test it.

So I'm baffled, do I have a BIOS issue? Do I have a Mobo issue?

My plan after I come back is to hook up the battery, and try then try going back a version of BIOS.

" I currently didn't have an M.2. I got a samsung 980 pro........"

Are you trying to use the Samsung 980 Pro as a boot drive?

If yes, how did you put an operating system on the Samsung drive? A clean install? A transfer of some type from another drive?

Did you try booting with absolutely no drives connected so that all it can do is boot into bios? If that works, you could try booting from a usb containing either the windows installer or a linux distro just to see if your hardware works. After that you may have to completely reinstall windows.

No I'm trying to install that as a secondary hard drive. I'm assuming that could have tripped something perhaps. But it won't boot even with the OG HD as the only connected drive.

I have not. I will give that a go when I'm back in town on Thursday if the full CMOS reset does nothing.

So I am back in town, I unhooked all my hard drives and tried booting into bios and got nothing.
