No post after installing new CPU?

Hello,

So I have tried to install a new i5-3570k into my new build but it will not work. Nothing shows up on my monitor as I get a "no signal" and eventually the computer turns off and on after 10 seconds. I don't believe it's any other part since I'm using the computer right now with a different CPU (i3-2100).

What could possibly be wrong?

Incompatible motherboard? You should really list the motherboard make/model.

You can also try pulling the CMOS battery for 30 seconds and replacing.

Sorry, forgot to add specs, it's a MSI z77a-g41, it's a LGA 1155 socket which would be compatible with the 3570k.

I have tried resetting the CMOS and it didn't work.
