Hi,

My friends and I took out some parts to remove dust and we also did some cable management. My PC won't post or beeb after this small maintenance. My PC has been running fine with the same config for a little over 2 years now.

I have tried multiple answer given in this forum but I think that my CPU is dead. Is the only part that was not touched during the maintenance, but it's also the only piece that dosen't show a sign of life. Also, I realized my friend connected the second 4pin connector instead of the first one, could that have killed my CPU? Here is my part list :

  • ■i5-6600K
    ■Deepcool Maelstron 120k
    ■Asus B150M-A/M.2
    ■2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4-2400
    ■Intel 600p M.2-2280
    ■WD Caviar Blue
    ■Asus Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
    ■Corsair CXM 450W (2015 model)

In all what I have tried :

  • ■ CPU Fan and case fans are running
    ■ Motherboard lights are "breathing"
    ■ GPU fans are turning. A white light on the GPU is also on.

I have tested with the bare minimum, PSU + CPU + Motherboard = no post, no beep.

Thanks

Did you use the detachable four-pin from the 24-pin main connector as a the CPU 4-pin +12V connector?
If that is the case that could either damage the motherboard, CPU or both.

If you used the 4-pin +12V connector from the 8-pin connector then the system could be savable.
The system might have stalled to prevent damage.
Disconnect the power cord, press the power button for 20 seconds, then remove the CMOS battery and RAM.
Double check that all PSU power connectors to the motherboard are connected properly.
Wait 5 minutes then place the CMOS battery back and one stick of RAM.
Make sure everything is seated properly.
Connect the power cord and power on.

Thanks for your solutions. I did use the 4-pin EPS/ATX12V connector of my PSU. As the connector have 8-pin, my friend did plug the second part of the connector and I changed it afterward.
I did the CMOS reset but it didn't help. Still no post or beep.
