No post and shutdown after 30s after reseating cpu and applying thermal paste. Beeps 4 times on pressing power button again.

My pc is an 11 year old pc with a pentium dual core cpu and D945Gcr motherboard.
Recently I was cleaning my pc and removed my cpu and replaced the thermal paste.
Now it has stopped posting and runs for about 30 seconds and shuts down. On pressing the power button again it beeps 4 times giving the thermal shutdown signal(I have had overheating problem before so I know the beep code). Now I don't know what to do.

- Is your CPU fan connected and spinning.
- you might want to visually check thermal paste application overlapping o adjacent CPU circuits and CPU/mobo pin integrity

The fans are spinning and they shut down after 30s..then when I press the power button it gives the beep codes for thermal overheating

If you have enough time to get to the bios and load default settings, or clear cmos jumper or battery removal for 1 minutes , refer to your motherboard manual for instructions.

Its fixed now...in my case it was bad cpu fan pins...they got broken and loose when I took it off to apply thermal paste..so the pc refused to turn on.
Changed the fan and now it works fine.
