Hi everyone!

I'm a first-time builder and I'd like to first begin by saying that these forums have been a huge help! :)

I finished building my PC without many hiccups, but when I start it, I do not hear the POST beep at all. The computer is booting just fine into Windows 7, and I do not see any error messages. Here are my specs:

Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3
Intel Core i7-2600 Processor 3.4GHz 8 MB Cache Socket LGA1155
ASUS PCI-Express x1 7.1 Channel Sound Card XONAR_DX
XFX ATI Radeon HD6950 2 GB
ASUS VS248H-P 24-Inch Monitor

I've disabled the integrated Audio controller, but even before disabling it, I never heard a POST beep.

Thank you in advance!

:D

Look on page 2-29 of your motherboard manual, that's your speaker header for your 4 pin speaker. You should have a speaker cable on your case. It should say Speaker. If your case doesn't come with such a cable, you can buy a separate speaker for $5 plus shipping: Speaker.

You mean beep on boot by 'post beep'?

Is there even a speaker on your board?
My Fractal Arc Midi came with a vestigial speaker that I was able to fit on the leads provided in the system panel (lower right hand corner) of my lower end Asus P8Z68-V-LE board. Without that, I'd have no POST beep either.

I've been used to hearing the beep while booting my Dell computers over the past several years. I incorrectly assumed that all motherboards had an integrated speaker. I did not realize that some needed a speaker connector. It doesn't look like my motherboard has one by default.

Is there a specific model I should look to purchase?

Thanks again!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have the Corsair 600T case and it does not come with a speaker connector. I'll purchase the one from blazure's post, thanks! :)

You can get MoBo speaker for less than $5. Just Google for it. One of this is here for only $1.45 -> http://www.amazon.com/PC-Internal-Mini-Onboard-Speaker/dp/B002W4M0DW
