Just upgraded my pc with a Asus x299 Mark2 motherboard and i7-7440x cpu.(both used) ive got 16gb ram in two sticks.
i had intended for it to be headless and im lazy so i just put the hard drive from the computer i was previously using in the new one. this didnt work and i was unable to access it so i plug in a monitor and i get nothing but a black screen and fans going full speed(gpu fans are outright loud), i plug in a speaker an i get no beeps at all. decided to try update/reset bios and neither of those yielded any results. im unsure whether i did bios update correctly. i formatted my usb to fat32 and extracted the most recent bios directly into the usb then plugging it into one of the motherboard usb slots which yielded no results.
Im unsure what could be causing problems. Im unsure on the psu but from my limited knowledge i doubt that(i will be trying something else though). I wasnt able to plug in the 4 pin power connector next to the 8 pin but the manual seems to indicate that that is fine.
