Question No post/display after new cpu

Hi guys,

Yesterday I tried to install my new i7-8700(non k) into my PC.

Now the problem is that the pc won't post/display anything anymore.

The USB ports also don't work, and there is no CPU light or beeping sound on the motherboard.

What I have tried already:

• BIOS updated to latest version
• Only 1 ram stick
• Different ram stick
• Tried it in another motherboard (same issue)
• BIOS reset with CMOS battery
• Without graphics card

If I put the old CPU in, the PC will work just like normal.

Does anybody know a solution? Is it a dead CPU?

I3-8100 (trying to upgrade to i7-8700)
16GB DDR4 2400mhz
MSI GTX 1080 AERO
Asrock H310CM-DVS
2x KINGSTON 256GB
Cooler Master 550 WATT 80+

Tried it in another motherboard (same issue)

Dead CPU. RMA it for replacement (given that you bought it brand new and have warranty).

If you bought it used on ebay or such, and it was advertised as working, then send it back for a refund.
