No post, long endless beep, only when cpu is clocked down.

Have a gateway fx-6800-01e been trying to fix. specs here. have 2 mobos, 1cpu. working psu, gpu, & ram from current rig used for testing.

When powered on bare bones, pc has long constant beep w/ no post. when the cpu isn't locked in place by the latching system, the pc turns on with no beep w/ no post on both mobos. Leaning towards a bad CPU, would appreciate any confirmation/advice on this hypothesis. thanks!

Check the pins on the socket. The force pushing them down may be shorting some bent ones out.

Yea there are definitely a few that are bent, on each mobo. utubed some vids, will try and bend them back later today. Thanks!

Ok so i bent the pins back as best i could but still get the same response on both mobos. The pins look fine from what i can tell. Cpu g3ts super hot when ligjtly seated on pins w.o latching. Course when latched it gives solid beep. Thanks again for the help.

Edit: took some pics of the chip and pins, the thing that strikes me is the extra pin marks on the chip, 2nd pic, third from the bottom row of the chip.
