Ok so this is the first ever pc build i've ever built so far i've collected a intel core i5 4690k ,evga geforce gtx 770. ballistix 16gb ram 1600mhz, and a corsair cx750m power supply. Before i got my ram i had powered up my system just to see if it was up and running i didn't hear anything i just turned it on to see the fans run. A few days later i bought the ram which i heard online all i need is ram to AT LEAST get it to run the bios. I Got the ram and connected it, everything correctly even the optical drive which i had forgot to mention that i also got. I Connected it to the monitor with a vga hoping that it will load the bios. I just inserted processor, graphics card, Ram, Optical drive and connected only vga from motherboard to monitor To end up seeing that there is no bios being showed up on the screen with the asus z97i-plus motherboard i've tried everything like removing the battery on board and turning it off and on pressing the memok button and by the way the memok red Led keeps being lit up when i turn it on. Even when i connected the ram correctly that light stays on which in the manual it says if everything is correct it should turn off which it didnt and everything was connected correctly as it said in the motherboard, processor, and graphics card manual. The main problem is that there is no bios being shown up on screen and i was seeing that i can update bios so i can show up using usb flashback? i havent tried that yet because it said that when i connect the usb to the back of the motherboard i need to press the FLASHBACK BUTTON ON THE MOTHERBOARD. HOWEVER HOWEVER there is no flashback button on the asus z97i-plus so i have no clue what they are talking about. I've ordered a brand new asus z97i-plus so i am not too sure still what to do when the new one comes any help in getting the bios to appear? I need the bios to appear on the monitor its been already a week trying to figure it out and its really frustrating and the fact the the z97i-plus didnt come out too long ago many people aren't having this problem so i can compare. or at least posting their problem

You didnt read it properly.

The manual says press the reset button for 3 seconds, when using USB BIOS flashback.

So if its in a case, extract the BIOS update, rename it if you have to. put it on a flash drive. Put it in a back USB 2 port, then press reset button for 3 seconds

So all I have to do is get the recent update .cap and the .exe rename it put it in a USB place it in the USB flashback and press the reset button for 3 seconds? And when I say recent button the reset button on the case? I have a bit fenix prodigy so I hold the reset button for 3 seconds?
Does this mother board not show up on the screen because its outdated? When using USB flashback do I have to connect power supply only? Or do I need to connect ram CPU and GPU? As well? While doing it?

NO USB BIOS flashback only requires a PSU not a CPU. But it wont matter if you install the CPU.

The manual will tell you if you have to rename it, for it to work. And yup like I said extract the BIOS update extract it a flash drive rename if it says to in the manual. Put it in one of the back USB 2 ports

Ok i will do that when the new one comes
1. put .cap and .exe in a usb
2. plug in usb flashback
3. power on
4. hold reset for 3 seconds.

This motherboard has no bios button so i would have to be pressing the case reset button for 3 seconds after that i connect cpu, ram, gpu and the rest of the components.

Another thing my keyboard didn't turn on when i connected it to the back of the motherboard on a 3.0 usb usually my motherboard should light up if it is connected i am not sure why it is not connecting. (this is before the usb flashback havent tried it yet)

Should the keyboard power on after the bios update?

Note* This is to make the bios appear on the screen If it is not appearing when you connect vga from motherboard to monitor The first time you powered it up correct?

We have a troubleshooting checklist in the stickies for this type of problem that should help you figure out what's causing the problem. With a GTX 770 installed you should plug the monitor into it, not the motherboard. Perform all the steps in the troubleshooting checklist and let us know how it goes. There's also a link to the checklist in my signature.

So i did what you told me to do which is get the latest asus update
i went to asus then support then chose z97i - plus then clicked Dos then got the file renamed it with the renamer.exe i downloaded from their website aswell then put the .cap in the usb put it in the bios flashback usb port in the back of the motherboard pressed the reset button 3 times then the usb started blinking because it had a LED. It stopped blinking after like a minute disconnected the power supply cable put ram and processor in ONLY no graphic card powered it up connected vga from motherboard to monitor and still nothing appeared.

Is like this motherboard bad or what? It's getting frustrating having the bios show up on the screen. and its a new motherboard i just got in the mail just RIGHT NOW like at this second. not literally but a few minutes ago

What am I doing wrong??? Ugh!! help

Ok yay! so i found out that i had been using the wrong ram for the motherboard and ended up getting corsair vengeance and so when i clicked it in the slot of the motherboard IT BOOTED UP!!! with the processor and ram inside and the power cables connected with vga going from the motherboard to the monitor.

However When i placed it in my case and disconnected it, Because it was outside my case. It stopped booting up for some odd reason. It booted up when i had it outside the case and now its not booting up inside the case The only thing i added was the graphics card. and the rest of the cables on the side panel where the power button and reset button were you know cables like usb 3.0 and headphone audio jack and stuff. And connected evga geforce gtx 770 2gb gddr5 Thats it and it stopped working i turned it on connected vga hoping it would boot up but nothing. Any help now? because before it was ram then it worked. And now it stopped working help please?/

It turns on like the computer powers up the only thing that i meant that it stopped doing was loading up the bios.
Everything was connected correctly exactly how i had it outside the case i just added graphics card, the rest of the panel cables and fans. it only loaded the bios outside the case and when i put it inside it stopped loading the bios my mouse and keyboard work now! but bios stop showing up on screen.

Ok so i found out that my graphics card is the thing that is not letting me boot up the bios so i disconnected it and the bios showed up once more! However, How do i get the motherboard to boot the bios WITH the graphics card connected? Do i need that little adapter my graphics card came with, which was a dvi to vga converter adapter? please tell me i dont need it because i lost that little piece. Or Do i have to install operating system and then when i have windows up and running I connect the graphics card and it showed pop up?

When i disconnect the graphics card from motherboard, i can use the motherboard bios with vga cable.
When i connect the graphics card on the motherboard, the bios stops appearing on screen
I connect Hdmi to graphics card, Then Graphics card makes the motherboard bios appear on screen.
