No POST or boot and DRAM LED on new build. Already RMA'd RAM and CPU.

This is my second build, and I have some experience in IT, and I'm absolutely baffled. I get no POST and a solid red DRAM LED regardless of RAM configuration, etc. I thought the issue may have been the CPU/RAM so I RMA'd both, but the problem persists. The part list follows:

ASUS Z170-A ATX DDR4 Motherboard
Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz Unlocked Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor Socket LGA 1151 [BX80662I76700​K],
ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Graphics Card (STRIX-GTX1080​-A8G-GAMING)

Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Why would you do that with no cooler mounted?

Mount the cooler!

I have tried with a mounted cooler on the old CPU but not the new one - I will mount it

Never do that unless you have your cooler mounted with thermal applied to the CPU.

Not quite sure - I hadn't noticed it until now.

That's probably your issue bent pins.

You need to RMA the board , but good luck , sometimes they won't with bent pins , 99% of the time it's the builders fault. Bent pins are super rare from factory.

I'd try straightening the pins. A magnifying glass and some thin tool, even a plastic card, would help.

I agree it's worth trying , because they don't usually take RMA's for bent pins.
