Hi Guys,
My friend recently put together some parts and has attempted to build his PC.
He excitedly put it all together but the PC is not booting. On pressing the power button the GPU and Case LED's flash for half a second then go dark. That is all that happens.
He brought it round to me to have a look at and I have some quick questions (never built a PC before)
I've ran through the sticky about no boot problems.
1. CPU power is definitely connected.
2. Standoffs under the mobo are present
3. Video card is firmly in place (its a Sapphire 280x)
4. Video card has 2x power cables connected
5. He only has 1 ram stick
6. Ram has been reseated and is firmly in place
My question is about RAM placement.
His only stick is placed in DDR3_1 (Picture: http://i.imgur.com/KAinyEP.jpg)
His Motherboard is a Gigabyte ga-z97x-ud3h_e.
I've read his Motherboards manual (Relevant page here: http://i.imgur.com/Emln08y.png)
Am I correct in assuming the RAM should be in DDR3_2?
If so, would it being in the wrong slot be a possible cause of his non-booting PC.
Thanks so much.
