Hello, i have a motherboard that doesn’t boot when a processor is installed in socket number 4. (The motherboard support up to 4 cpus)

The pc boots fine when only 3 cpus are installed. I know that the cpus are fine because i have checked all of them in socket #1 and the pc still boots fine as long as no cpu is installed in socket 4.

I can’t see any bent pins in socket 4 and everything looks good.

When a cpu is installed in socket 4 i get no display. I have tried with onboard graphics and different gpu’s. So it has to be the socket, I have also tried with different psu’s.

the motherboard is a g34 socket and is called h8qg6-f.

First guess would be a power problem. Quad socket motherboards, generally have 1500W or more power supplies.
Second guess would be a RAM problem. Do you have at least 1 DIMM for each socekt?
Is this Intel Xeons or AMD Opterons ?

This is opteron 6386 SE engineering samples, I had all my ram in socket 1 so i will try to install a ram into each socket. Also, when i have cpu's installed in only socket 1,2 and 3, i get error beep codes if i dont install any ram, but when i have all cpu's installed, no beep codes occur even if i didn't install the ram.
