[SOLVED] No Post with New SSD on Win 7 system

I have a home built system that has been in use for several years with no issues. I decided to upgrade my Windows 7 HDD with an SSD. I cloned the HDD using Reflect via USB. The drive and its files were visible in Windows Explorer so the drive should be working. When I swapped the drives the PC failed to post. Fans came on for 1/2 second and then switched off with power light on. After checking connections and removing cables i mistakenly reconnected the old drive and the system booted normally. I have checked cables, I reset the CMOS, disconnected all drives and the system boots to the BIOS. Now I tried connecting the old HDD by itself and no dice. No post again. Any ideas?

I never used such programs to clone drivers, only thing i'd say is that the program did not copy the boot partition, dunno if it is possible.
I'd try a direct install of windows on the ssd.
If you get boot loop or not posting i'd double check the ram modules, take them out and put them in again just in case something moved in there.

Its been a long while since this issue was first reported. I tried all the suggestions on this reply as well as others i saw. My particular problem was caused by the power supply. I had previous hints about the problem but did not realize it was the PS because i never thought this component would fail. But my original PC often had boot issues that I thought were due to standby problems or pc case issues. Following one of the threads i read i was able to boot by disconnecting some of the drives. At one piint i thought it might be sata cables. Nope. It was just the PS.
