Heres my newest problem, hopefully you have a solution :D

First here's what i'm using

Power & Cooling S75QB 750W ATX12V

XFX GeForce 9800 GX2 Xtreme 1GB PCIe

G.SKILL 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9T-3GBNQ

Intel Core i7-920 2.66Ghz 8M LGA1366 CPU

Asus P6T-Deluxe Intel X58 Socket LGA1366

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM

XCLIO Windtunnel Fully Black Finish 1.0 mm SECC Chassis ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Now heres my problem, I have my system built out of my case as I THINK there was a short in the case, but it could possibly just be some connected problem.

Heres what happened while inside the case wires touching etc etc.

It would Start, run 6 secs, restart and run.

Heres another thing it would do when it was shorted by wires or what not

Start for 1 sec turn right off, it still sometimes does both of these for no apparent reason.

What i'm at now though is this.

It Will start and just run video card fans, cpu fan etc will run, but I won't get any Leds to my Video card or Ram which indicated a successful boot.

I've tried reseting, rebuilding in and outside case currently outside, i've tried cleaning with alcohol, moving on different boxes, I even went so far as to use the case screws to set on the box just incase there was some kind of short on the box for some reason. this has all been for nothing.

I've tinkered around with cpu and heat sink and about everything reset everything.

Heres a strange thing it does though. Even when i don't have ANY ram sticks in it runs fine just as its running now, same as if i don't start it with the hsf etc.

What i honestly think is it's the MOBO again. I just rma'd another one for having a DOA power switch, i'm thinking about rma'n this one 2morrow depending on what we find out, besides the fact they sent me it with a broken sas connection on the mobo.

The only thing I haven't done yet is reapplied new thermal paste which will get here 2morrow as my last batch seems to have disappeared.

NOTE: This has not really been up and running. I did have it running at one time, but then it stopped again because the cpu was 'overheating' according too the bios which is a LIE it wasn't even hot let alone overheating lol. So i'm thinking could be a bios error also with the mobo, tried reseting the cmos and battery and that did nothing tho.

I installed Windows, and a few other programs on it before it shut down from 'overheating' and decided not to come back on again. I'm fairly sure its another mobo problem but i could be wrong. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Try basic breadboarding steps found in the sticky at top of the forum. Its possible something else is causing the issue, but it certainly sounds like the MB is the issue. Unfortunately the only way to pin the problem on the MB is by eliminating every other component as the culprit. A case speaker is useful in these situations, do you have one?

Are these the same issues you were experiencing with the last MB you had? Or new issues?

Ye i used only the offsets that were on the mobo, nothing else. no extras. And @ kid last time it was just the mobo wouldn't post at all no fans start or anything it was just a doa power switch. I'm not sure whats wrong this time really I'm going to call Asus tommorrow after work. Like I said they sent me one with a broken sas port anyway. Didn't see it til a couple days ago as the serial sticker was holding it together lol. So i'm just gona tell em whats up and have em send me another board.

Thanks for your help guys if you think of anything else let me know otherwise ill post in a week or so to let you know whats up. :)
