No power ASUS Motherboard

Having a problem with motherboard getting power. Tested new PS, all leads test to spec. Hook 4 pin to MB and 20 pin to MB, nothing else connected. Nothing happens, ps doesn't work, No light, no fans, nothing. BUT found if unseat 20 pin to wiggle, motherboard lights up and fans come on. What could be happening here?

Is fixing the 20 pin connector on MB a possible DIY option?

Possibly, check in the socket and see if you can tell if all the pin sockets look good, check the soldering - also check the PSU and make sure the male pins are all extended fully
