So I built a new pc around a month ago, put it together and it to worked great, until two days ago. I had gone to the toilet and when I came back I noticed my pc had turned off completely.
I tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't, nothing would happen, no fans would spin up, no lights, nothing, id only hear a little ting from the psu when I press the power button and a ting again when I flick the switch on the back of the psu.
So I thought my psu had died, replaced it with another and tried it again, once again nothing happened. No lights, no fans and just a little ting from the new psu, similar to before.
So I thought my motherboard might be dead, replaced that today and tried it. Again nothing!! I don't understand what's happened.
Took one stick of ram out, discontinued everything other then both hard drives, 1 monitor and tried again, still nothing at all

Anyone have any ideas? It's seriously depressing now..

Spec:
Ryzen 1700
Msi x370 pro carbon gaming
16 gb ram
Gtx 1080
Ssd 500 gb
Hard drive 2 tbh
Windows 10

Solution
it could be catching on something possibly theres only a very small gap for the metal end bit to go into

even though its a pain taking the motherboard out the case will let you know if the gpu is faulty or if its a problem with how its going in

So I found out, when I have my gpu in my pc doesn't start, as soon as I take it out and try, it's starts, is the gpu damaged or just catching on something?

So I took my motherboard out, found out my graphic card itself was the issue, I tried it outside the case and the thing literally caught on fire... haha... looked into it and apparently evga gtx 1080 ftw had been prone to shorting and catching on fire.. I'll have to message evga tomorrow

ouch

hope you get a free replacement from them
