I just some new parts but when connecting everything, nothing happened so I stripped the computer to just the mobo and the power supply to see if it works but still nothing.

Mobo: GIGABYTE 970A-UD3P
Power Supply: XFX PRO 750W
Processor: FX-6300

I've connected the power switch on the case to the proper Front Panel Header.

Anyone have any ideas what the issue is?

make sure that all the necessary power is connected to the board, IE the 8 pins somewhere near the CPU and the PSU block is seated correctly. then using a screw driver, touch the pins of the power switch header and the cpu fans should start up, if they dont, try another PSU or test the psu on its own by putting a paperclip between pin 15 (green wire) and any nearby black wire

The PSU is definitely working as I've tried it with another computer and I have both ATX_12V and ATX connected but when I touch the two power switch headers, still nothing happens. Would it be possible for the ram or CPU to be causing issues?

CPU, maybe, though i still think everything should power on, if nothing else.

ram definitely not, the board needs to power on before it can check the ram

how old is the board? by which i mean, how long since you bought it?
