Tried to plug in my Dell 5150 to recharge the battery and nothing. The
lights on the palm rest just flash once and go out. I have power at the
transformer and at the plug to the laptop. Everything was working fine
until the battery drained down. Now I have a expensive coaster for the
coffee table. Any suggestions??

I just had a laptop with pretty much the same problem. Went thru taking
apart the laptop with dell support pulled the battery. cd rom drive
hard drive and memory out still no boot.

Diagnosis bad Mobo

Dell installed a new Mobo and it works like a champ now

The 5150's have heat problems, so different parts can fail on different
computers. I've replaced failed hard drives for two local owners of 5150's.
