Trying to replace my mother's PSU in her HP Slimline S5-1224. I purchased several brand new PSUs from ebay that claimed to be compatible, but they had two 4-pin molex connectors and two SATA connectors. Her PC only has 2 SATA connectors from the PSU and the ones on the replacement didn't even fit. I've gone through this several times w/ PSUs I've purchased that claim to be compatible for the 1224. No electronic store nearby carries any. I'm assuming there are no decent replacements for this particular PC model as every PSU I've encountered have the same two SATA connectors and two 4-pin Molex connectors? Should I just chalk this up as a waste and purchase a new PC?

Well, gee. Thanks for being honest because HP surely was not and I was running around in circles trying to find a way to save the computer so she can retrieve her data (without transferring the hard drive and voiding the warranty of a new PC). She's SOL. Heading to the store now to purchase her a new desktop. Thanks :)

Good choice , the SFF Hp models are a pain to deal with.
