No ram in laptop

I dissasembled my laptop and it has no ram stick ,but windows says it has 0.99 GB.
How can i do this on my bigger laptop?

Are you sure it has no RAM stick in it? Your computer will not boot without RAM. Period. Some laptop motherboards put one slot on side of the motherboard and one slot on the other side. Did you try removing the motherboard and looking at the other side?

Another alternative if this is a Netbook or similar is that 1GB of ram is soldered on the motherboard, with a RAM slot for another 1GB or 2GB

the missing 0.01GB probably relates to shared memory used by integrated graphics chip (on CPU or chipset)
