Question No Realtek After Reinstalling Windows 10

Hi, I have an issue with my Asus B360M-A motherboard PC. After running into a problem, I had to reinstall Windows from scratch a little while ago. I get sound just fine, but now there's no sound equalizer control, and it can't do true studio quality sound it seems like. I've heard you can just update the drivers easily online, but I'm not sure exactly where I should go, and what to do for that. I've heard to just get the ones off the website, but this kind of thing can cause another blue screen, or issue where I have to reinstall windows if it messed up probably. I'm also kind of wary of updating the chipset drivers, and mobo as well for the same reason, and because I saw it barely improves gaming performance, but it would be nice to at least have the audio manager stuff back. its likely windows installed its own version of most of your drivers. Especially audio & internet
Chipset wouldn't help with audio

Didn't work. Before, I had an .exe that I could open, or exit, but the changes I made to = settings n stuff stayed even afterward. Now it's garbage compared to before. Probably what I should do is not be a scrublord n just make a save state and try installing some sound drivers. I should've done that before when I fresh installed windows, but instead I just felt like playing games again n <Mod Edit>. I'm not to familiar on the whole workings of these things.

it could be you need to use the driver from the motherboard makers website for that console to work

I saw in some Youtube video that I might be able to get it from right here PC Audio Codecs > High Definition Audio Codecs Software - REALTEK I downloaded the file, but I'm afraid that it might bork things if I install it, not sure. It is windows 10. That does look similar to the kind of app it had before though, but mine was the official realtek one or w/e

looking at dates of those drivers, I wouldn't touch them, they are too old and could just ruin things
Your sound works now, you just can't control it. Putting them on could remove both sound and control

there are 2 types of realtek audio drivers
the old drivers that came with the HD Audio Manager
the new drivers, released for windows 10, where you only get audio driver from motherboard maker, and the console comes from Windows.

If you want to mess with sound
you be better off downloading drivers from Asus,
uninstall the audio drivers you have now and install the Asus ones, and see if it lets you install/use the console after. I think I did similar the 1st time as I didn't like having no controls either.

PRIME B360M-A｜Motherboards｜ASUS Global I did try going here, but another time that I tried to apply something here, it didn't work out so well. I even used the WHQL which is supposed to be the one that has full compatibility if I'm not mistaken. It could be that I really have to just sit down sometime n make it so I can go back to the most recent settings that worked if anything gets messed up. That, or just a way to download that EXE that has equalizer control, or something. Thanks though

My guess is UAD = Universal Audio Driver

newest on Asus - Version 6.0.8702.1 Have to assume its UAD
I have 6.0.9235.1 UAD
Latest is 6.0.9175.1 FF00 which is listed here - https://www.tenforums.com/sound-audio/182081-latest-realtek-hd-audio-driver-version-3-a.html but I am not sure if its the new or old driver type.

I generally leave audio alone if it works. I have had problems in the past with speakers just randomly not working, so I just leave it alone.

its also strange in that digital audio uses Microsoft but Analog uses Realtek. You can see this looking in device manager... or maybe that just my pc.

its possible the driver itself is old and they just update the package/installer.
I can't prove anything.

you can try that old folder but as Asus drivers show 2 years later, it might not work well.

I kinda fixed the problem. I downloaded Peace Equalizer, interface Equalizer APO download | SourceForge.net and also updated my driver off the Asus website to the newest non WQHL. I haven't been able to get the real equalizer back, but I guess it'll have to do
