My other logitech mice had a visible red laser underneath it. The G502 is new and i was wondering if there should be a light there?
The mouse works however.

Solution
One is an optical mouse without laser illumination and one is an optical mouse with laser illumination. Most people just call the mouse without the red light an "optical mouse", while the one with the red laser is usually called a "laser mouse". The optical mouse without the laser is more popular nowadays and widely considered to be better in most situations and use cases than laser mouses. Here is an article on it below.
