Hi Guys,

Having some issue on my desktop pc.

Hope some one here can help.

I have installed a 2nd gpu on slot 2 pcie x16, when powered on the pc no response at all. removing the gpu from the slow, pc runs as normal.

Why is it happening. by the way i'm using GTX 1060 on the 2nd slot.

Thanks

There are 2 pcie
1* pcie 2.0
1* pcie 2.0 x 16

Specifications:

Mobo: M5A78L-M LX3
CPU: AMD Athlon X3 445
RAM: Corsair 4gb 1600
HDD: 160 Gb
PSU: 1600 Watt

1 x PCIe 2.0 x16
1 x PCIe 2.0 [/b]x1[/b]
1 x PCI

Chipset
AMD 760G (780L)/SB710

There are two PCIe slots, but only one can hold a GPU. So you can't put a second GPU there. This board also has the 760G chipset which doesn't support SLI. Even if there were two PCIe slots, you'd never get the 1060 working in SLI on it. The 1060 doesn't support SLI anyways, so what are you trying to do?

??? You have that old of a system and a 1600W PSU? I assume you are trying to mine with this setup?

Yeah an old setup, trying to get the best out of it, if possible. Mine, Not so actually for gaming. Reusing the old machine. The psu got it from my friend as mine was spoiled. He had an extra unit so I just got it for free actually after winning a match.

True it doesn't support SLI. But the unit was working before for few weeks before. Then all of sudden it stops after I have changed the riser card. That's the only thing that I change. but if put it on the pcie (short pcie) the same riser works.

It might have affected the onboard pcie x16 somehow. Will check mobo with asus as well. As it's still under warranty.
