No signal after 5 minutes of booting windows

I ran into a really strange problem today. After booting my PC to Windows I lose display after 5 minutes. I try to download amd drivers but it shuts off everytime I try to, and I have to go into safe mode and uninstall my graphics card drivers in order to boot into Windows. Once that happens the same problem occurs. My computer specs are: r9 295x2, MSI z87-g45 gaming, i7 4770, cooler master silent pro m2 1000w, 1tb hdd.

Obviously you have a single graphics card with dual Gpu`s on it.

Your power supply at 1000w is well enough to power that card in both the amount of watts and amps the card requires when under full gaming load gartersnake.

So if the screen when booting into windows, suddenly goes black it will be at the point where windows is trying to load the Ati video driver just before windows desktop is displayed, or where the login screen of windows is if the computer has multiple user accounts setup.

It would point to the fact that one of the Gpu chips of the graphics card has a weak or a bad solder joint on the underside of one of the gpu chips of the card where the contact points are soldered to the circuit board of the graphics card you have.

Another thing to try, is to load windows in safe mode.
And check system restore of windows to see if any software, or windows update files were installed.
If you find it to be the case say for example the day before it stopped loading to windows desktop.
Choose a restore point before it. and see if it fixes the problem of the system black screening before it gets to the windows desktop gartersnake.

If it does not fix the problem for you, it is likely the graphics card needs to be heated and re flowed so any bad solder joints can from the gpu chips of the card can re connect back to the circuit board of the card.


Over time all or most cards fail with bad solder contacts, due to the fact they are heated, and then cool, expanding and contracting.
causing a break in the Bga solder connections.

It works perfectly fine in safe mode. I uninstalled all the drivers. But when I booted back to normal mode, it happened again. Could it be the OS?
