No signal after installing drivers

I recently bought an Nvidia GTX 970, and after installing the drivers, both the on disc drivers, and after, the drivers on Nvidia's website, the screen goes black after the starting Windows screen. I completely uninstalled my previous graphics card's drivers (ATI Radeon HD 5770), and everything started fine before I installed the drivers. No idea what is causing this issue, any help would be appreciated.

Asus X58 motherboard
MSI GTX 970: Golden Edition
Windows 7 Home Premium

put the old card in and uninstall the drivers DDU driver uninstaller follow instructions go to safemode run application and than click UNINSTALL AND RESTART
