No signal after installing new RAM

After installing a new ram stick, which has all the same specifications as the previous (other than the size of the memory), the computer will boot but no signal will be displayed on the monitor, I have tried resetting the cmos and even resitting the ram into the slot, and even switching back to the old ram stick, yet it doesn't work anymore.

After checking the connections, nothing seems out of place or as if anything in there was accidentally removed while replacing the ram. Thanks for the response though.

What mobo, CPU and model #(s) of the DRAM? Also, do you have the latest BIOS?

Motherboard is an Msi H81M-E33 V2
Cpu is intel core i3 (cant specify more than that, i cant find the information anywhere)
model # of the ram is HX316C10FB/8
For the bios, i would assume so, but personally have no knowledge

Sorry for the lack of information, but this computer is my brothers and i don't have any information, other than random booklets and the actual parts to go off.

Go into BIOS with only the old stick and raise the DRAM voltage + 0.05 (i.e. if the sticks are 1.5 set to 1.55), save, exit, shutdown then try adding the new

I have no idea how to get onto the bios, as even when placing the old stick back in it sends no signal to the screen still, so i'm unsure as to how to get into the bios.

No, tried both slots and still no signal

Hard to say what is going on but may be the board decided to go.
