I have an MSI B350 Gaming motherboard and am using an adapter for the 8 pin cpu power. Thats been one thought in the back of my mind thinking the processor is jot getting wnough power. Now i was under the impression that my problem was a bios update so i purchased an older amd a-series dual core to try and get it to boot up and it did nothing. So im back to square one and i think i will just replace the motherboard and power supply one at a time until it works unless someone can help me out here. Any thoughts are appreciated.!!

Use a PSU not 10-12 years old that already comes w/ an 8 pin (2 ea 4 pins), and it should have the required connector, eliminating one of your prime suspects in 'rig won't power on' sequence of troubleshooting events....

TO start with, what CPU do you have installed? (no 2200G/2400G will work unless the BIOS is updated first, and, the MB's onboard video outputs will be nonfunctional with any CPUs other than 2200G/2400G...

WHat CPU are you using? Do you have a GPU, or are you attempting to use onboard video from the motherboard?
