No signal CPU

I recently bought an Intel i7 4790k LGA 1150 processor, and when I put it in my CPU slot, there is no signal to the monitor. When I put back in my old CPU however, the computer gets connection to the monitor and everything is fine. What could possible be the issue here?

It's difficult to answer because you provided no info about the motherboard. Is that CPU new or used?
