No signal detected GTX 560 TI after installing drivers

The card works fine with Basic Microsoft display adapter but when i tried downloading latest nvidia drivers i get no signal, i tried installing only the graphics driver from the nvidia pack and some interesting stuff happens. It actually boots into Windows login screen but the fan gets progressively louder and louder until i get no signal again. (I removed the existing drivers before each attempt with driver sweeper and gpu removed, used the onboard one). I also tried disabling onboard and setting the main lane on pci express in bios to no success.

It's my friends card. He gave it to me to check it out because of the issues. These are the specs I'm trying to run it on

16gb ddr4 (running at 3000mhz)
Asrock z270 extreme4
Samsung evo 850 250gb
Seagate 1tb 7200rpm hdd
Coolermaster G550M
