Hello everyone, I have tried everything I could so i am coming here for professional help, I am sure someone will figure out what the issue is.

The problem:
The computer turns on but monitor showing that there are no signals detected.

My attempts to fix this issue:
1. reseated the ram - on the same slot and tried other slots (all 4)
2. Reset the Motherboard - CMOS reset
3. Took the motherboard battery out of the motherboard and put it back in (to reset) - the battery was out for about 1 minute.
4. Hold the power button for 1 minute while the computer was not plugged to the power outlet.
5. tried different cables - VGA, HDMi (2 of them)
6. Tried Onboard GPU (both VGA and HDMi slots) and GTX 1050 ti GPU.
7. There are no bent pins in CPU socket- please see the pics below.

Additional Info:
This probelm arises when the Computer automatically shuts off and restarted. The monitor was off so I could not see what the screen was showing.

I used to put my computer to sleep every night and rarely shut down the computer.

The monitor is working fine... Tested with other computers. The cables are fine too.
Also there is no beep when the computer is powered on - maybe my Motherboard does not have sounds.

Solution
You seem to understand computers pretty well and you seem to have done everything right. I can't be sure what your problem is, but the first thing i would look at is your RAM. Go into the UEFI bios and take close look at the settings for your Kingston HX421C14FB/8 kit. [speed, voltage, timings] Your ram may need lower settings, at least for now, until you get the machine working.

Also, at least for now, avoid using sleep mode. It seems to cause a lot of people problems.

I have helped other people numerous time with their hardware and software issues. People think that I am the IT guy at work, and here I can't figure out what the issue is with my PC. I don't have any other DDR4 Ram, so I guess I will have to take my PC to a computer repair shop just to try another DDR4 ram. I will keep you posted.

Thank you.

Did you try simply lowering the memory settings to see if the computer will boot?

You can also contact Asus Technical Support via Email or chat, on the Asus website. I've used the live chat option in the past and found it useful.

The issue is that I don't even see anything on the screen, so I am unable to change anything in the BIOS. All I see is no signal detected. I am assuming that is the only way a person can lower the memory settings.

I will try the Asus technical support. Also do you know if I can put two different brands of memory sticks in my motherboard, as long as they are DDR4? or the MHZ has to match as well like 2133 MHZ etc. I am planning on buying a 4GB ram and will tryu to run my system with that new RAM. If the computer boots with the new RAM then it means my current RAM is faulty, and I will get it replaced as it is still under warranty. Otherwise, the MOBO has to be shipped back to ASUS for repairs.

Edited Note: I have 8GB of Kingston HyperX FURY Black 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC ram and just looking into buying any RAM that is only sale but that matches this criteria.

Thanks

Before you contact Asus Technical Support, take a closer look that your ram sticks are installed properly. If you look at pages 1-9 and 1-10 of your motherboard manual, you will see that your motherboard's ram slots only have a clip on one side. The other side has no moveable clip. Make sure as you insert each stick of ram, you press down firmly on both ends if the memory stick.

3 yeas ago i had this same problem myself. As your reported in your original post;

"The problem: The computer turns on but monitor showing that there are no signals detected."

I immediately called my brother for help and the first thing he asked me is "are you sure the ram is installed properly", but i said yes because to me it looked like the ram was fully inserted. It wasn't till the next day that i realized the ram was not pressed down all the way into the socket. This solution may work for you, give it a try.

Yes you are right. Normally this is one way the issue can be resolved. But if you look at the 3rd pic from the bottom you can see that my RAM is properly seated. I always make sure that I hear a click sound, ensuring that the RAM is seated properly. Please take a look at the pic, third from the bottom, and let me know what do you think. I don't think it can go down in any further. https://imgur.com/a/5NTXJ <------ Pics gallery.

Let's say the problem is that computer is not picking up RAM because the RAM is not seated properly, then I think in my case, this could also mean RAM is faulty because the result of the two scenario is same. I am assuming my RAM is faulty, but is seated properly.

I have also tried running the PC by inserting RAM into different slots.

I can't see perfectly from the photo, but yes it does look fully inserted. In any case, if you are checking carefully then that should not be an issue.

One other idea i can suggest to you is to blow the dust out of your PC with some compressed air. Looking at the photos i do see some dust, lint ,hair, dirt in general. It is possible some dirt is in the RAM or PCIe slots and preventing a clean connection.

Other than that, i'm out of ideas. As i said before you seem to have a very good understanding of computers and i don't think my expertise is any better than yours, but i would just say i don't think the problem is faulty RAM. Single purpose non moving parts like the CPU, RAM and SSD's will rarely instantly fail on their own, for no obvious reason. [as in overclocking or a power surge] I would go back to my earlier suggestion to contact Asus Technical Support on their website and they will have better answers for you.

I did use compressed air to blow the dust out of ram slots and from other components.
I agree with what you said regarding single non-moving parts failing on their own. The RAM I bought has an excellent rating and I have never had any problem with any other kingston products.

Also, when this whole issue started, my PC automatically turned off and restarted on its own. Does that give you any clue as to what could be the issue? Unfortunately, the computer was on but the monitor was off so I could not see what showed up on the monitor, such as blue screen etc.

Other thing is that someone in my house accidently threw away the motherboard box, and now I am not sure if ASUS would be willing repair the motherboard without a warranty card. I don't know the product number because I don't have the box, but I can probably find the serial number listed somewhere on the motherboard. I will call them up and will let them sort this issue out.

I will be going on a vacation soon, so I will contact them once I am back from the vacation.

The ASUS Canada service center is not very far from where I live. On ASUS website, there is a note besides that location saying " NOTE: WALK-IN SERVICE ONLY ". Does that mean I can simply go there with my motherboard and they will take it in for a repair? I will call them up before I go there.

Thank you very much

What i see is "WALK-IN SERVICE ACCEPTED". Just phone the Markham location and see if you can walk in the front door of their location.

Hello rocktalkrock,

I hope you are doing well and had a good holiday season last month.

So I am back from vacation and showed my PC to a computer technician. He told me that my motherboard is most likely faulty. I have the RMA code from Asus but there is one small problem, I am missing a cpu socket cover.

Do you think Asus will accept the RMA if the socket cover is missing? would it be different if I drive down to Markham, Ontario location (which I can) and show them the product on the spot (no risk in shipping and handling in this case)? Or should I call them and ask if they would accept it?? Never done this before so i am not too sure.

I have read in other forums that they might deny the service if the cover is missing. I tried looking for one but I can't get it for cheap. I have LGA 1151 cpu socket.

Thanks,

Yes I was referring to that plastic cover.

Will let you know what happens with my motherboard.

Thanks,

Hello rocktalkrock,

Sorry for such a long delay in my response. Soon after my last response I got very ill and could not fix my computer then some other issues came in. Anyhow, I dropped off my motherboard and got a refurbished one from Asus 5 weeks ago and that solved the problem. I was extremely happy and was about to tell you that, but some 3 weeks ago that problem came back again (This could very well be due to me moving my computer to my other family member's house).

I was very busy with work in the past 3 weeks and could not fix the PC. Today I turned it on for the first time after 3 weeks of long delay and it WORKED!. It was a roller coaster of emotions for me....

I just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me out through this painful process. Hopefully this post will help others in the years to come.

Thank you rocktalkrock!
