Hi, just recently I bought myself a GTX 690 graphics card and installed it into my PC, it works with a slight couple problems which I won't get into as I plan to find a way of fixing them myself, but one problem in particular I need help finding answers for.
Whenever I tab out of a game or simply close the game down that is in full screen mode, my monitor comes up with no display (in other words the "No Signal" display), meaning I have to shut down my PC and turn it back on. This only happens when the game is in full screen, I do not have the problem if I tab out of a game or close it down if it is windowed.
Does anyone know what the problem is and know how to fix it?
If you need information on my monitor and what the ports are then here is the information below:

The monitor I have is a AOC e2343F 23inch and it has a DVI-D Dual Link port.
The graphics card I have has two ports, a DVI-I Dual Link and a DVI-D Dual Link, I have it plugged into the DVI-D Dual Link.
The cable I use is a DVI-D Dual Link.

If anyone knows any way of helping me out in the situation then please let me know and I will highly appreciate it, thank you for taking the time to read this ^.^

What do I do now? I did what you said but when it went to restart my monitor is now stuck on a black screen, no matter what I do it is just stuck on a black screen. I've turned off and on my PC over 5 times now and even unplugged everything and plugged it back in but my PC is stuck on a black screen as if it were turned off and there is nothing I can do to get it to display something.
I'm sending this message via phone.

Seriously man what do I do? My computer is practically disabled now because of your suggestion.

sorry time change difference here. Did you run your PC in safe mode? If not it could be the issue. Try resetting your BIOs with the cmos button/jumper. See if this fixes anything. using DDU should not have prevented you from getting to bios regardless though it could in theory stop a full boot into windows. I am happy to help but you must realize not everyone is in the same time zone. Me I am in hawaii and sick so I was up late. I'll do my best to watch for posts to hep you fix this assuming it is a software issue. Also what are the rest of your system specs.

thx bishopi5

I do understand having your system not work is frustrating. all of us on tom's want to help and we will do our best to get you running. It is entirely possible something else is the issue. Like a PSU going bad or PCIe slot. I can't tell you the times i was working on a PC that had multiple issues going on. Fixing one made another very apparent or a new issue cropped up at random making the trouble shooting harder then it should have been. Again DDU should not have had any effect on the boot up process for your GPU so getting through post and into bios should not have been affected. If resetting cmos doesn't help you may well have a hardware issue as I mentioned which will require new parts or a tech if you don't have them or know which part it is that needs replacing. get back to me on you full system specs and we will see what we can do. Also try attaching your PC to a different monitor or TV and see if you get the same issue.

Yes please try a different monitor, also different PCIe lane and fresh drivers (again)
Sounds like your card works fine? but stays black whenever it flashes black... (exiting full screen applications / installing drivers etc)
This point to your monitor, or cables, that being said we will go down that road when it comes to it, for now please try a different monitor

I know it's been over a week since a reply came onto the forum, but let me inform you now. Yes I did run it in safe mode. I should inform you that I had to take my computer down to a computer shop and after a few days of working on it, they had to wipe the whole thing because there was no way they could get the screen back up, even after resetting the cmos and wiping the whole PC, they couldn't get the screen back up. They installed a different graphics card into the PC and the screen popped back up, so it was obvious the graphics card I installed was apparently faulty, so they suggested I go back to the previous one I had, I am using it now, I am getting in contact with the person who I bought the graphics card from and see what he has to say about it.
Thanks for trying to help, but your suggestion led to my computer having to be wiped. At least I found out the card was faulty from your suggestion, and it's a good thing I backed up everything so I have nothing to lose. Again thanks.

I am sorry they wiped your computer however it is a risk anytime you take your PC in to a tech or have a crash of this magnitude. Keeping back-ups up to date like you did is the right thing to do. Sadly there was no reason for them to wipe it if the GPU was the issue. They should have tried a new GPU first and then if it didn't work correctly wiped windows. Not sure why or how they did it backwards like that unless they wiped your drive on another system. If they wiped windows on your PC when old GPU wasn't working exactly how did they see the load screens? Doesn't exactly make sense but I have gotten bogus things from techs myself in the past so they can jack up the repair cost (not saying this was the case but is possible) and one reason I do all my own repairs, the other being I was certified to do them. Point being keep your back-ups up to date always and only use a tech when you don't have the resources or know-how to fix a broken system.
