Hello. I've had look through the sticky thread on the checklist.
Please note this is not a new build. It's around 4 years old, built with new parts in 2019.
PC partpicker full specs. -
Msi b450 tomahawk
Ryzen 5 2600x (so no integrated graphics)
16gb corsair 3000 ram
Gigabyte gtx 1660ti 6gb oc windforce (3 fans)
EVGA 750 gq PSU (modular design)
Windows 11 - fully updated.
Stuff done in the past week before the issue.
Something happened with this shutdown. Usual shutdown process "windows is shutting down". I turned off my monitor, went for a cigarette before bed (I don't smoke inside). Came back inside and the computer is still "on" (rgb on) turned the monitor back on and black screen. I assumed it had just not turned off so pressed and held the power button to turn off and went to bed.
Woke up this morning and it won't boot. VGA LED is lit on the motherboard. All fans and rgb are on and spinning, including the rgb and fans on the gpu.
Troubleshooting steps taken. No fix.
1. Reseated the gpu.
2. Used a different gpu 8-pin power cable and a different port on the PSU itself.
3. Removed the CMOS battery for 15 minutes (I know it's 5 mins but lost track of time) and held the power button for 40s
4. I have tried 1 stick of ram in all 4 slots (I have some other 16gb ram that doesn't play well with corsair so is a spare set) tried 1 stick of each ram in each slot.
5. Some googling suggested to try and boot without the gpu connected and then with it connected. Tried that and still no change.
6. Tried 3 display port cables. 2 hdmi cables (monitor has both inputs) tried connecting via hdmi to my tv and no signal. Tries every slot on the gpu as well. I also tried a hdmi-displayport cable I had from an old monitor I had to use
I have an old computer at my parents house. Amd fx-6300 (or something like that) pre-ryzen amd cpu ddr3 ram. I know this doesn't have a gpu anymore but should be working. They are coming round tomorrow to get the kids and I can ask them to bring it to me to test the gpu.
I'm not sure what PSU is in it 350 or 450 watts is likely but I do have a tendency to go big wattage. Would this be OK to test if the gpu has died? Or would it show an issue on that system if the PSU doesn't have enough power?
I'm at a loss as to what else to try. In the meantime until my parents arrive with my old system.
Anyone have any ideas?
Ps. I asked the to check the PSU wattage and got the usual response "check the what with the what now?".
Would I definitely need a 2nd gpu to test?

- Last weekend I cleaned it all out. Using my compu cleaner electric air duster. Been fine until last night/this morning.
- Wednesday morning I updated Windows.
- Thursday (yesterday) I added my kids profiles on the pc. Played some fortnite. Updated the graphics driver. Watched some YouTube. Shut down the PC to go to bed.
