No signal from GPU

Help! I just got a new ASUS desktop from newegg & the GPU won't provide signal to the monitor. I've tried the only HDMI slot (no signal) and the DIV slot (no signal). The monitor (Acer, 2 years old) still works; I just ran a VGA cable to my laptop and got it to display no problem. The monitor's DIV works, too; I just tried it with the old CPU & it looks good. I can't try the onboard graphics b/c they're disabled & I can't get a signal from the supposedly enabled GPU to enable the onboard graphics. This is such a mess. I just got the stupid computer yesterday, too.

Here're the specs: ASUS desktop G11CD, Intel core i5 6400 (2.7 GHz), 8GB DDR4 mem, GTX 960 2gb GPU. Thanks in advance, I've already contracted ASUS and they told me to contact newegg, who won't be able to do anything until Monday.

Solution
As this is a pre-built, I wouldn't recommend messing around with it much - it could be argued you invalidate your warranty for whatever reason.

Given it's still within a retailers warranty, I would take it up with Newegg & get a replacement.

In a stroke of complete idiocy, I already opened it. I plan to contact Newegg again tomorrow to see what (if any) my options are re: the warranty, but I´m not keeping my hopes up. On the bright side, I can say with confidence that the GPU fan spins.

You didn't have to break a seal or sticker to get inside, did you? If not, I wouldn't worry about it - but I'd leave it alone (and not mention it!) to Newegg.

We could go through all the usual troubleshooting, but for a pre-built product it should just 'work' an you shouldn't have to invest any time into it. If it doesn't, the retailer &/or manufacturer is the best route to get you up & running.

Ah, well, yep, I broke the sticker. But to be fair, the sticker only said, "read warranty manual before opening," which I did. It says nothing on the sticker about losing the warranty by breaking the sticker. The manual does mention tampering, but I don't think my peek inside the case justifies that. If allowed, I will try and ship it back to Newegg to get a replacement. I'll keep you posted as to if they'll let me or not. I'm hoping everything will work out, but am worried. I still might just need your help. Thanks for your advice!

An update: Newegg's sending an RMA. The sticker doesn't say that the warranty is voided upon opening it. All it says is "read the warranty manual before opening the unit." The customer service rep felt that what I did was fine. Hopefully a new unit ships no questions asked. Thanks for your help, Barty1884!!
