No signal from GPU

Hi there! When i built my Pc i installed the gpu in the pcie x16 slot.After i powered up the computer there was no signal from the gpu (just a black screen) and i thought the gpu is broken.I tried it in another computer and it worked without any problems.After this I was convinced that the pcie x16 slot is broken and i tested it with a gt 230 and guess what-worked without any problem.Now i am running the GTX 770 in a pcie x4 slot and it works good but between the case and gpu there is not enough space for my gpu to breathe (this leads to high temps in gaming).

I tried everything: different power supplies(650w),resetting the cmos,different monitors,different monitor cables(vga,dvi,hdmi and dp),I checked everything (cables, RAM, connectors).I don't have an integrated graphics card.Please help me, I'm out of ideas...
 


I don't have any more components in the pci slots.The gpu is the only part using a pci-e slot and it's currently installed in a pci-e x4.
