My brother had this graphics card for 2 years , than he gave it to me and now after 2 weeks graphics card wont give signal to my monitor, like dvi ports are not working, card is working fine, ventilators are spinning. Than I was reading through posts on this site and found one where someone said that I try to remove Ram or cd drive. First time it started working after I removed Ram and than next morning it was not working again, Than Ram trick didnt work again , than I tried removing cd drive and now is working again,,,

Everytime I tryed cmos thing, removing and puting back card , trying different dvi ports on two different monitors.

Onboard card is working fine

I had different card for almost 2-3 years and I never had this problem
maybe the problem is that monitor automaticly goes to onboard graphich or something?

specs: graphich card: saphhire 5770 hd oc edition
Ram : 6gb
motherboard: asrock: N68c-s ucc
power suplay : seasonic 380w(i think)

Anyone knows what coud couse this problem?

Solution

A seasonic 380 watt PSU should in theory be able to run a system with a 5770, the 5770 will be about 100w max, idle is way less. Try the other ports on the card if it has any other than DVI, at times certain ports fail and it seems you only tried the DVI port. If those don't work, test the card in...
It's your PSU - 380w is not enough for a system which has a Sapphire 5770 installed.
I'm surprised it worked at all, let alone for two weeks.
Existing PSU must have just managed it to start with, but now it can't manage it any more.
Manufacturer recommends 500w minimum. Didn't it occur to you to check? Info is here under

If it works there, you can try a different power supply in yours.

Solution

When I first time installed graphics card I was testing with Gta 4 on max settings that card can handle for 3-4 hours, if PSU was the problem I think that it would crash then. I cant try other ports because my monitors only support vga(dvi). Is it possible that somehow motherboard goes straight to onboard graphics? , because when i was testing onboard card i didnt disconnect 5770 from the sistem and I was still able to see image on screen from onboard card.

Is the card showing up in Device Manager? Are you connecting using a VGA or DVI cable? Or an adapter? Check the cable unless the same cable is working with the onboard video. Try removing the card fully from the system, uninstall the drivers and start the setup for it fresh. Also check for a BIOS update for the system, it may kick start it to detect the card.

I am connecting using vga cable with dvi adapter , cable is not the problem for sure because i have two monitors connected and I tried both monitors with both cables. I was able twice to fix the problem but i dont know what I did , If I will have the same problem next morning I will try to update the bios, only thing that is wierd to me is that it worked fine for 2 weeks, and now for two straight mornings I had same problem.
