no signal from new card to monitor

i just bought a dell insperion i3 ect ect with integrated graphics and i wanted to use my old video card from my last comp its a galaxy, gforce gt620 but when i turn the comp on with the card in it everything works but i have no signal from my monitor and it goes to sleep any help would be amazing

It might sound obvious, but is the monitor connected to the card?
