Hi, I jst built a new desktop. Put everything together and all was fine. I installed windows, the drivers for my motherboard. I left it for the next day to finish installing the drives. However when I turned it back on in the morning, my monitor keeps saying there is no signal.

I reopened it, looked if everything was alright but still nothing. I replaced the RAM in the different slot, rechecked the cables, consulted the manuals but nothing could help me out.

When I connect a HDMI cable directly to the graphics card it shows a display. For my own monitor I need to have VGA connection. What could be wrong?

My setup:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Pro4-M
Memory: Transced 4GB 1600 mHz (I know it's not much I'll uprade it later)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card
Case: Thermaltake Commander MS/I Snow Edition
Power Supply: XFX 550W Pro Edition
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer

Are you connecting the VGA cable to the video output on your motherboard? If so, that is the problem. It needs to be connected to an output on your video card. I don't believe that video card has a VGA output, so you'll need a DVI-VGA adapter.
