My kid and I are building a PC. We have plugged it all together. The fans all spin and various LEDs come on. I get no start-up beep from the mobo but I'm not sure this board has a speaker. We're getting 'No Signal' on our monitor and want to check if it is a BIOS setting that needs changing BUT the mobo has no graphics output of its own. If the problem is in the BIOS, do I need to try a different graphics card? Or do you have other suggestions for troubleshooting? Here are the specs:

  • mobo: Fatal1ty 990FX Killer 3.1 Series
gpu: msi GEFORCE GTX 1070 Founders Edition (8gb VR Ready 12 DirectX)
psu: coolmax 80 Plus Certified ATX Power Supply 500 W model ZX-500
cpu: AMD FX Processor Black Edition
    monitor: AOC I2267Fw
The GPU is plugged into the PCIE2 slot. The LEDs on it light up and the fan spins.

We tried using a DVI cable and we tried using an HDMI cable connected to a TV and both got 'No Signal'. I tried the monitor and cable with a different PC and it worked fine.

Thank you for any suggestions or solutions!

Yes, it would be good to test different graphics card, if possible (try borrowing one). For beeps, you'd need a case speaker connected to the motherboard.
