Hello,
so i have a problem with my new LG TV, i want to connect my laptop via HDMI. Video card can recognize tv, but in display settings when i try to find or identify other devices it says there are no others and tv shows no signal error. I selected correct HDMI port in tv and tv even knows there's something connected on the other side. I can connect other devices, like my linux laptop, or windows 7 laptop, but this with win 10 just won't connect. I even asked friend to try his laptop with windows 8.1, but his won't connect either. Now i can only connect tv to this laptop via wireless screen share.

Well, it bothered me, so i tried the shorter cable and it didn't work, but when i plugged in the longer simultaneously with shorter to tv(longer in HDMI slot 1, shorter in 2), it miraculously started to work. Then i tried connect the longer cable and it did work too. Seems like magic, when i plug in the tv only one cable it doesn't work, but with 2 cables in tv but only one connected to pc it works. Any explanation?

I have the exact same issue on my 4k Smart LG TV. I know the port works because I switch it out with ChromeCast and other devices. I know it's not the HDMI either, I've tried many other. I think this may be a Windows 10 issue that is causing this, or the TV...

Still don't have an answer huh? Please Bump this, we need to solve this issue.

A very long cable was the problem. I had a cable of 10m, when it clearly states in the User Manual for the TV that it should be certified HDMI and 3m. or less. I have an LG 6470 PLC. Just bought it and it's an amazing TV. Buy the shorter cable and make sure it's HDMI 2.0 4K certified and you'll have no problems.
